Welcome to Swaney Elementary!
I am honored to serve as the principal of Swaney. I have worked in the Derby school district for 20 years. My wife teaches at Derby Middle School, and our children will be in 7th, 4th, and 2nd grade this fall.
Swaney has a long history of providing a great education for Derby students. Our amazing staff collaborates to make sure we provide an excellent education for Derby students. We serve students in early childhood through fifth grade and offer tiered programs, gifted services, and specialized programs for other exceptional students. As a principal, I enjoy collaborating with staff and families to build on our strengths. I invite you to be a part of this by joining our SITE council, Parents and Teachers at Swaney, volunteering in your child’s classroom, or helping with field trips and other special events.
At Swaney Elementary, we take great pride in our school, district, and community. We all work together to help every student prepare for the future every day. I am looking forward to working closely with each of you to build a strong learning environment that helps each student be successful. The best is yet to come!
