One of our parent educators meets with the pregnant and parenting teens in the counseling office at Derby High School once a month during their advisory period. If you do not currently attend Derby High School but are a teen parent you are still welcome to attend the parenting group. This gives the teen parents a chance to become connected with others that are in similar situations and help build a larger support group for the teen parents. A different topic is discussed at each group meeting (e.g. support group, caring for an infant, etc.) If you are a pregnant teen interested in the group, or a parent of a teen who may be interested in the group you may call Kelsy Schlect at Derby High School, (316) 788-8500 or you can call our office at (316) 554-0110 to gain more information about becoming involved.
