USDA has extended several waivers through summer 2022. These waivers will allow Derby Public Schools to offer free pre-packaged, curbside meals for any child ages 1-18 this summer. There are no income requirements, address stipulations or registration.

Menu
Breakfast and lunch will be served Monday through Thursday at the same time. Thursday’s pick up will include meals for Friday. Supply Chain issues continue to complicate menu planning. For that reason, a detailed menu will not be published but will generally follow this plan:
• Monday - hot hamburger or chicken sandwich
• Tuesday - cold turkey or ham sandwich
• Wednesday - hot pizza
• Thursday - Uncrustable
• Friday - frozen item such as chicken nuggets will be included in the Thursday pickup along with heating instructions.
Parent Pick Up
Parents must validate the number of children in their household. They will do this by bringing their children with them to pick up the meal on their first day. A district employee will verify the number of children in the car and give the parent/guardian a sign with the number of meals they will pick up. This sign will be used for the remainder of the summer . Please keep this sign on your dashboard or hold it out the window as you pull up to get your meal. If the meal is not eaten immediately, leftovers need to be stored in the refrigerator.
